BIO

Leila has a diverse background in ecology, natural resource management, complex systems science and sustainability. She holds a B.S. in Environmental Biology (Albright College) and an interdisciplinary MBA (Antioch New England) focused on Systems Sustainability. Leila has worked for Vermont State Parks and for the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources, spent a decade working on policy, outreach, permitting, and development of renewable energy projects in New England, and owned and operated a dogsled touring company and winter guide service in Vermont’s Northeast Kingdom. Years earlier, Leila worked as a field crew member on a diversified organic vegetable, fruit, and livestock farm on 650-acres in central Virginia. 

At the Center for Sustainable Agriculture Leila provides operations and program support, serves as the communication point person for the organization, and performs a diversity of organizational tasks to help keep things running smoothly. She is an avid and experienced kitchen gardener, forager of wild plants, and a knowledgeable outdoorsperson. Leila lives in the hills of Chelsea with her husband, daughter, and cats.
