BIO

Dr. Peters’ primary area of expertise concerns walking assessment and recovery in older adults and persons post-neurologic injury such as stroke and spinal cord injury. Her research focuses on brain-behavior relationships by utilizing MRI (diffusion tensor imaging), quantitative measures of motor function (e.g., force production), and clinical measures of impairment and activity. Dr. Peters has additional interests in wearable technologies and outcome measure assessment.

  • DPT 7240 – Neurological Management II
  • DPT 7250 – Neurological Management III
  • DPT 7930 – Evidence-Based Practice in PT

Publications

Awards and Achievements

  • National Institutes of Health Clinical Research (Extramural) Loan Repayment Program Award (2019-2021; renewal 2021-2023)

Area(s) of expertise

Neural correlates of motor impairment and recovery post-stroke, gait rehabilitation and neuromechanics, wearable technologies, physical activity assessment
