Dr. Marcia Bosek joined the Department of Nursing at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ full-time in the fall of 2009 and was awarded tenure in 2012. Before moving to Vermont, she was an associate professor at Rush University where she taught nursing and ethics to undergraduate and graduate students. In addition to her academic role, she was also a member of the Rush University Medical Center’s ethics consultation service.
Dr. Bosek (2007) co-authored a nursing ethics textbook titled: The ethical component of nursing education: integrating ethics into clinical experiences. She is a member of the American Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International. 2014-2021, Dr. Bosek served as a member of the American Nurses Association’s Ethics and Human Rights Advisory Committee (EAC). Through this committee, Dr. Bosek was involved in drafting the ANA’s position concerning current ethical issues experienced by nurses, such as medical aid in dying, pain management and volunteerism. Dr. Bosek also serves as a peer reviewer for several nursing research journals.
Since 2018, Dr. Bosek has served as the Nurse Scientist in the Department of Nursing at ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Medical Center. In this role, Dr. Bosek facilitated the implementation of nursing research and mentored nurse involvement in nursing research projects.
