BIO

Wade Carson is a Clinical Professor of Medical Radiation Sciences and Director of the Medical Radiation Sciences, Radiation Therapy Program.  Wade completed his undergraduate degrees from ¶¶Òõ̽̽ and Champlain College and earned an MBA in Healthcare Administration from Western Governors University.  Wade is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.   

Before teaching, Wade held clinical practice positions as a radiation therapist at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, the Willamette Valley Cancer Institute & Research Center in Eugene, OR, and ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Medical Center in Burlington, VT, and a radiologic technologist at PeaceHealth in Springfield, OR, and ¶¶Òõ̽̽ Medical Center in Burlington, VT.  He was also a Research Manager and Human Protection Administrator for radiation oncology, medical oncology, gynecologic oncology, and hematology-oncology Phase I, II, & III clinical trials and also served as a manager for multiple family medicine clinics in Washington state.

Teaching and mentoring have always been an important part of his career. Helping people grow, academically, through life barriers, and in their careers, is a highlight of his career.  His teaching interests are in radiologic sciences and health care administration. Professor Carson is committed to working with students to bring the real world into the classroom and clinic to ensure that students are competent and confident in providing safe and effective patient care.  As a faculty in the radiation therapy program, Wade interacts with students in the classroom and the clinical setting, creating unique and meaningful connections.

With over 25 years of clinical and leadership experience, Wade has also served on committees with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), the American Society for Radiologic Technologists (ASRT), the New England Society of Radiation Therapists, the Vermont Society of Radiologic Technologists, and has been on advisory boards for various academic programs. 

Outside of teaching, Wade enjoys spending time with his family, cycling, and being in the woods.
