Study Food Systems in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences

Program Overview

At ¶¶Òõ̽̽, it's in our nature to think differently and to challenge the usual. We were the first university in the country to offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in Food Systems.

Vermont offers students access to a living classroom, a working laboratory, and professors who think as broadly as the disciplines they straddle. But once you're here, you'll just call it home.

The B.S. program deeply educates students on all aspects of the food system, including agricultural systems; food production within a changing climate; food and health; food security; federal, state and local policy development; and understanding the complete dynamics of a global food system.

Concentrations

In addition to core major requirements, students will acquire a depth of knowledge in a specific discipline related to food systems by choosing one of the following concentrations. Students complete the concentration by following a minor by that name.
